Sorry that I have been missing for so long.  Real life caught up to me for  a while.  Pressure has come down a little but things are still hectic, and professionally difficult.  So here is one of those funny stories that puts a bit of a different spin on life’s challenges…

We are in trouble…

The population of this country is 300 million.

160 million are retired..

That leaves 140 million to do the work.

There are 85 million in school.

Which leaves 55 million to do the work.

Of this there are 35 million employed by the federal government.

Leaving 15 million to do the work.

2.8 million are in the armed forces preoccupied with killing Osama Bin-Laden.

Which leaves 12.2 million to do the work.

Take from that total the 10.8 million people who work for state and city governments.

And that leaves 1.4 million to do the work.

At any given time there are 188,000 people in hospitals.

Leaving 1,212,000 to do the work.

Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons.
That leaves just two people to do the work.

You and me.

And there you are,

In case you had not figured it out.  I am still absolutely buried professionally.  Between coming up to the end of the quarter, trying to get the “numbers” to where they need to be, fixing troubled projects, and covering for guys that are on vacation I am lucky to have a chance to read anything that is not work related.  Writing something new is even more problematic.  As I write this, I am enjoying the luxury of being able to connect to the internet from the Fracking train.  Ah well, this cycle will wind down sometime soon and get back to normal.

In the meantime there are all kinds of things out there that are developing that I would like to comment on.  Energy related, Middle East related, and of course the Presidential race.  We’ll have Bejing Olympics to address in the next couple of weeks also.

As I indicated earlier, life and work have had me slammed for the past week or so.  It doesn’t look like it is going to let up anytime soon which sucks but, it goes in cycles and it will lighten up eventually.  In the interim there are all kinds of current events, and other happenings that I miss out posting on.

I have a couple of hours at hand this morning, I am going to try and queue some things for the week to keep you entertained.  I apologize if things seem very late to appear, vs when the event took place.

Work has me slammed again.  Posting will most likely be light through the week.

Taking a family vacation for a little while. I expect that time in front of a computer will be quite limited during the period so, I have put together a few little “treats” in some posts and scheduled them to appear in my absence. I’ll try and sneak something else in whilst I am enjoying the sun and crowds. In the meantime enjoy what’s coming.

Sorry everyone – Life has gotten in the way of posting recently. Work, kids, all that stuff. I hope to fix that soon, in the interim I’ll throw some lighter stuff up here over the next couple of days. Enjoy!

Well, I got the upgrade completed and I am having some issues. Really strange one’s that so far are entirely behind the scenes. If you see things misbehaving on the public facing pages let me know.

The theme, well this one is different and kind of peaceful. It offsets the stress in my life right now but, I doubt that I will keep it for long.

A surprise post over at Mr. Completely’s place. He had a few kind words that are appreciated.

Well this weekend is Boomershoot, and I am no where near ready to participate and very jealous of all the folks destined to practice their long range rifle skills tomorrow, and connect with those reactive targets. But the plan was (and is) to pull the things together for next year at the earliest. Hopefully I’ll be able to pull that together.

NFL Draft – Incredible the amount of coverage that has revolved around this event over the past few years. The NFL has an incredible marketing machine and it shows.

As you can see remodeling of the blog is underway. Some of the things don’t all work yet, and I lost some of the video clips when I switched servers around and so on. Rebuilding those posts, and tweaking the visual aspects of this as I have time. Hang in there I should get things stabilized soon. Although, I just received an upgrade notice on the base Wordpress software that may set me back a bit, if I install it. Gotta love the software industry.

After a brief hiatus I’m back up and running. I’ve got some work to do here but, I think I will have a bit more flexibility here to do more with the site than I was able to before. Of course it might have just been user learning curve too.

Now to tweak the theme around and get back to business.

UPDATE:  I have come to the conclusion that I am going to want to build my own theme.   I think that I can live with this one for now (as long as I can change the header).  But, I have to build one that fits me a bit better.

Between work and the holidays finding time to write has become tough. There are a lot of great issues to discuss and I have missed the boat on most of them. Well, let’s see what we can do to change that. I’ll start with a flurry of holiday related stuff that I think should be traditional, then see if I can’t generate some original thoughts on issues that readers may have an interest in.

With that in mind, let’s open the gates and see what happens.
