There are a lot of “things” that you can find about the presidential candidates. As I have said before though your choice needs to be based on your values, and your perception of what path is correct for this country. Socialism and Socialist programs is just one of those issues that should be weighing heavily on your mind.
As I was writing the post about advertising I closed the post with a comment about alarmism, and I was trying to visualize what that might look like.
I came up with trying to envision what an Obama cabinet might look like, and what his personal advisory staff might look like. Wright, Ayers, Rezko, the vision gets very, very, frightening. The damage to the fabric of the nation, the hatred that would occupy the leadership of this nation, the corruption, the damage to our international standing, our way of life…
Put yourself in the shoes of a terrorist, or a criminal, and Obama (a known terrorist sympathizer) is elected to office. What is your first thought?
I had a couple of very visual, mid-level paragraphs at this point that while effective would have given too many ideas to the bad guys. I pulled them out. Sit down for five minutes and think about what you do on any given day. Think about what would cause the most fear and disruption for you personally. Our enemies have already thought of that and have a plan to make those fears a reality if we allow them to.
Very frightening.
Political advertising amazes me. It always has and probably always will. The ability to merge images, and tones, and message subtly or overtly is amazing. Something that I would probably never be able to do. A new ad from the RNC today manages to combine all the elements in such a way that the elegantly state a serious issue, without falling back on alarmism or hysterics.

But given the US audience maybe a little alarmism would be good.

What a horrible irony it would be. Let me put a little list together for you. Nixon, Kennedy, Goldwater, Johnson, Humphry, McGovern, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush41, Clinton, Bush43, Obama, McCain.
Who in that list is least qualified from that list? Obama. You could put McCain solidly in the middle of that group – perhaps in the top 5 even.
Who has served their country that involved personal sacrifice the least? Obama. You could argue that McCain is at the top along with Kennedy and to a lesser extent Bush41 and McGovern.
The Greek playwrites couldn’t lay it out better – expecially when you consider one of the greatest political opponents of Bush43 for the last 8 years has been … wait for it … McCain.
